I bet you are well aware of the fact that there are not tons of materials for foreigners who learn Czech. How to do it when you want to improve you listening skills and enhance your vocabulary?
Yes, it is quite a challenging task to find something that fits this checklist:
- easy vocabulary
- story
- natural intonation
All of this and much more can be found in… BELIEVE IT OR NOT!…

Ano, není jednoduché najít něco, co by vyhovovalo tomuto seznamu:

Yes, in the Smurfs. As this cartoon has been primarily created for kids, the Smurfs don’t speak very fast most of the time. The stories are easy to understand. You can guess lots of things from the context.

A huge advantage is that they use lots of phrases that you will find very useful in every day life.
If you want to improve your Czech – both your vocab as well as listening skills – give it a chance and listen for 15-20 minutes every day (there are episodes on YouTube).
It’s totally fine when you don’t understand much at the beginning. If you stick to it, you will see a huge progress.
TIPS AND TRICKS:
- It’s a great idea to have a notebook where you jot down phrases/sentences from the video
- Read them every morning and evening
- Have you ever experienced any situations in which you could use these phrases? Great – replay them in your head and say the phrases aloud

Ano, ve Šmoulech. Jelikož byl tento animovaný seriál vytvořen hlavně pro děti, Šmoulové většinou nemluví moc rychle. Příběhům se dá snadno porozumět. Hodně věcí se dá odhadnout z kontextu.

Velikou výhodou je, že se zde používá hodně frází, které se ti budou hodit v každodenním životě.
Pokud si chceš zlepšit svou češtinu – nejen slovní zásobu, ale i poslech – dej tomu šanci a poslouchej každý den 15-20 minut (epizody najdeš na YouTube).
Je úplně v pořádku, když na začátku nebudeš moc rozumět. Pokud vytrváš, uvidíš veliké zlepšení.
TIPY A TRIKY:
- Je skvělé pořídit si speciální sešit, do kterého si budeš zapisovat fráze/věty z videa
- Přečti si je každé ráno a večer
- Zažil/Zažila jsi někdy situace, ve kterých bys mohl/mohla tyto fráze použít? Výborně – přehraj si je v hlavě a řekni fráze nahlas
