The Market Adventure Begins

Imagine you’re at a bustling market, surrounded by colorful stalls and the hum of vendors and customers alike. But wait—are those people in a line or not? In Czech, you would ask:

• Čekáte ve frontě? / Stojíte ve frontě?
  „Are you queuing?“

These phrases will help you sort out any confusion.

Interacting with Market Vendors

The shop assistant or vendor might approach and ask what you would like. Here are a couple of ways they might phrase this question in Czech:

• Co si přejete?
  „What would you like?“
• Přejete si?
  „Do you wish for anything?“

Now, it’s time to place your order. Perhaps you’re buying apples and onions:

• Dvě kila jablek prosím. A kilo cibule.
  „Two kilos of apples, please. And a kilo of onions.“

After you list your items, the vendor might ask if there’s anything else you need:

• Ještě něco dalšího? / Přejete si ještě něco dalšího?
  „Anything else?“ / „Do you wish for anything else?“
• Nějaké další přání?
  „Any other wishes?“

Wrapping Up Your Purchase

When you’ve got everything you want, you can politely let them know that’s all with:

• To bude vše. Děkuji.
  „That’s all. Thank you.“

Or, in a more casual market setting, you might hear or use:

• To bude všechno. Děkuju.
  „That’s everything. Thanks.“
