It depends on your dedication & hard work. You can truly learn a lot and get your Czech significantly higher than before the beginning of the course.
My courses are intense, so if you are looking for a course that is a piece of cake and no effort, don’t choose this one.
No, I prefer using authentic materials, on-line quizzes, short videos and learning Czech through stories.
The system is totally different to what you are probably used to. If you don’t like learning grammar charts, this method may work for you.
It means that when we have the topic
„At the café“, I have a video from a café when I was ordering. You can hear real conversation between me and the lovely waitress.
Or when we do the topic „Days of the week“, I have special calendars ready for my students so that they can plan (instead of just memorizing: Monday – pondělí,…).
A) People whose Czech got kinda „rusty“ (former A2) and they would like to refresh it. They are looking for visible results in a relatively short period of time.
B) People who already did some course (they are usually level A1) and they really want to move forward.
C) Total beginners: it is very intense for them, but it is manageable! They progress a lot within the 3 months if they are willing to study.
3-month course (level 1) starts in April 2023.
There are 2 versions: with conversational lessons(click here for more info) and without conversational lessons (click here to order).
The version with conversational lessons has only a limited number of students of course. If you want to make sure to get your spot, you can order it here.
The system is different. My students self-study from the materials I provide (videos, quizzes, crosswords, etc.).
They study when and where they want.
Then they actively use it during our conversational lessons in small groups. Believe me – they speak a lot! Even total beginners 😉 (in the version without conversational lessons there are used different techniques that make you speak)
My students took responsibility for their own progress. They know that it’s up to them to learn it.
And this is the biggest secret of polyglots (= people who learnt multiple languages):
they don’t expect anyone else to do the hard work for them – because they know it’s not possible…

Because I have been studying my Spanish in the same way. I went through the same struggles as my students and I share study tips that work for me.
I don’t like learning from textbooks. I learn Spanish from stories, songs. etc. I have a tandem partner (a native) and I took an intense 3-month course of Spanish that was designed in a similar way.
Yes, I am currently working on level 2 and some more surprises. My courses are different. It takes months to prepare one. So please be patient – it will be worth it 😉
