3-month course of Czech

with Renča

(conversational lessons included)

START: September 2024

Does it ring any bells?

  • My schedule doesn't allow me to attend a course at the same time every week.
  • I want to improve my Czech, but I am not a huge fan of studying from a textbook.
  • I need to improve my speaking in Czech. When I took some group lessons, I hardly ever spoke a word in Czech.
  • If only I could study at home (even with my pyjamas on) or on the bus while comuting. #dreamland
  • I need someone who can explain to me how Czech works - ideally in English.

Renča is a tutor of Czech for foreigners and English who has been teaching languages for more than 20 years. She is a native speaker who considers herself to be a guide - a guide through the dense jungle that is called Czech.

You can see her on social media - especially Instagram (czech_me_with_renca) - where she helps almost 2 000 followers thanks to her regular posts and entertaining reels. In her opinion, humour is a key element in the learning process 😉

Renča is the author of multiple e-books, courses, study materials and different articles in which she helps foreigners learn Czech while having fun.

Renča has a degree from English and Russian. Yes, she doesn't have a degree from Czech - which she considers to be a huge advantage as it gives her the chance not to look at Czech via nominative, accusative etc. She loves her mother tongue, reading and  writing stories or poems both in Czech and English.

  • You will learn how to react in everyday situations from a NATIVE SPEAKER
  • You will practise the newly learned phrases and expressions in conversational lessons regularly
  • You will get videos, sets of vocabulary on Quizlet and other materials to be able to learn and practise every week
  • You will get the chance to find people with similar interests - you know how important it is for your motivation and achieving your goals
  • You will have a support group on Facebook and all materials easily found in Google Classroom
  • You will be able to study when you have time (not when you have to), you will get lots of freedom as well as plenty of responsibility
  • You will have the chance not only learn Standard Czech, but also Common Czech during the course.

Imagine no stressing out because of not being able to attend your Czech course. Again.

Imagine feeling more confident while talking to your Czech friends or in a restaurant/shop etc.

Imagine learning Czech while sitting in your favourite spot, sipping a cup of Joe or a glass of beer while watching some video where Renča is explaining sth to you. At the time that works for you. Not bad, right? 😉

What will I learn?

You will learn:

- how to react in frequent real-life situations (REAL CZECH from a NATIVE SPEAKER)

- how to ask questions

- numbers, dates

- 88 most useful verbs and frequent situations these verbs are used in (write down 88 verbs in your mother tongue and you'll see how much you will be able to express 😉

- differences in meaning of frequent expressions (such as jít x jet x chodit x jezdit; vidět x vědět; koupit x kupovat x jít na nákup x nakupovat etc.)

- proper Czech pronunciation (no, Czech is not read as it is written in plenty of cases: v Praze, pod postelí, mrkev etc.)

- prepositions

- Standard Czech x Common Czech (I will add Common Czech equivalents so that you are able to understand when Czech people speak in less formal situations)

- present tense of the 88 most useful verbs (more advanced learners past and future as well)

- you will improve your speaking (I will make you speak even in the version without conversational lessons, though I highly recommend the version with conversational lessons to beginners)

What does the course look like?

The course is on-line. Every Tuesday you will get a set of tasks, videos and other materials for the week. You will also book your on-line conversational lesson for the week (there will be 1 introductory on-line lesson at the beginning of the course, 8 conversational lessons during the course and 1 afterparty at the end of the course).

You will work on the tasks at your own speed and at the time that will work for you (eg. on the bus, while having morning coffee or at home in the afternoon - it's totally up to you). The DEADLINE (when you have to send me your completed tasks) will be every SUNDAY at 23:59.

The course will be devided into parts - at first we will revise (there is no chance to build a solid house unless you have good foundation), then we will enhance your vocab based on everyday situations (I mean real Czech).

Warning in advance: I don't teach Czech the traditional way (via cases). Most of you know my posts on Instagram. I prefer real-life situations combined with frequent expressions. It makes more sense and seems to be more effective to me.

Why a DEADLINE? Why on Sunday?

Deadlines are important. They are great for your motivation. I have learnt some tricks during my 20-year career as a language tutor 😉 And Sunday because I spend Monday correcting your tasks and giving you feedbacks.

Does it mean that I will work on my own?

Yes, you will study on your own - at your own speed - while having regular support from Renča (via videos, feedbacks, materials, on-line conversational lessons) plus you will cooperate with other students in the course (during the conversational lessons, in the facebook group and some extra tasks during the course ;)).

Does it work?

No doubt. I have taken a special course that has taught me how to create a course like that. I got certified. Teachers who taught me have been using this model very successfully for years.

I really liked the combination of freedom and personal responsibility that this version of the course provides. That's why I have chosen the same version to learn my Spanish. So I am not only teaching it, I am also studying in the same way. And I love it. Otherwise I couldn't afford to study Spanish with my busy schedule and wouldn't be able to fulfill my dream that I had been postponing for 15 years)...

If you want to feel like Forrest Gump every Tuesday while "unpacking" a new programme for the week, definitely join. This is the reaction of Gaby this week: "I'm so excited to start with new program for this week. OMG. So happyyyy. Thanks you!!! I am so happy with my classes." (after finding out that she will practise Czech numbers while reading about her favourite topic space in Czech). It is her second week in the individual 3-month program.

What if I don't know how to use Quizlet, Google Classroom, Zoom etc.?

That's not a problem. I will explain some of them during our introductory lesson as well as in instructional videos. There will always be a support group on Facebook and you can send me a message via e-mail or Google Classroom.

There is always a solution. 🙂

Will Renča offer clear explanations in English just like we are used to from Instagram?

Definitely. You will have plenty of videos with me focusing not only on grammar, but also on proper pronunciation in Czech and other important areas.

... and anytime 😉

What does a conversational lesson look like?

I use plenty of activites, pictures etc. to make you speak. I use my 20-year experience as a language tutor to do it in a friendly, yet effective way.

It doesn't matter whether you are level A1 or B1. Everyone should practise speaking asap.

- 1 conversational lesson = 45 minutes

- small groups (6 people max.)

How much does the 3-month course cost?

12 weeks full of study materials, activities, sets of vocab on Quizlet, study cards, guiding, cheering and feedback from Renča packed into this 3-month course.

The early bird price is 4 099 Kč.

That means 342 Kč/1 week. This offer ends on 21. 1. 2024.

As a bonus, you will get  8 conversational lessons for free! The value of this bonus is 2 400 Kč.

While ordering, you can choose the option KOUPIT NA SPLÁTKY which means an installment purchase (= you will pay for the course in 3 installments).

What if you don't like it? What will happen if you find out that it's not  the right product for you?

I really care about you being happy. Therefore you can return all the materials within 14 days after the beginning of the course. If you decide that it's not your cup of tea, I will give you all your money back - no questions asked.

Don't choose this course if:

  • you don't like studying on-line
  • you think that your tutor will do all the hard work and Czech will magically jump into your head: NO PAIN, NO GAIN (though there might be fun while doing so ;))
  • you expect "traditional" lessons (I am the opposite of traditional and I looooove it)
  • you want to study from a textbook (I use the combo of my own materials, activities, videos and other sources)
  • you are advanced (this course is meant for learners A0+-A2 - in some cases B1) - I will open the advanced version later on
  • you want a program specifically created for your goals and needs - this is a group course (if you want the individualised version, apply for the individual 3-month program)

What do people think about my courses and lessons?

I enjoyed the concept and also helped my mind to stretch and think more in Czech. At the same time help extended by Renča was appréciable. I definitely recommend to every learner to try and feel the change.
Awadhesh Vishwakarma(about one of my previous courses)
First of all I would like to appreciate Renča for the course she provided in September/October. The atmosphere is friendly and if you like you can make it full of fun. The topics are shared beforehand. Study materials are nice and well managed. I would recommend it everyone who wants to learn Czech. Try it.
Arian Nejad(about my conversational course)
I like it a lot 🙂 I like how you design your work sheets and I like that there are different "medias" that you use like your worksheets and videos, articles from internet, youtube videos 🙂
Andrea (about individual 3-month course)
I'm so excited to start with new program!! OMG. So happy. Thank you. I am so happy with my classes.
Gaby at the beginning of the 2nd week of the Individual 3-month course(after finding out that she will practise numbers in Czech while reading about space - her favourite topic)
