Czech Explanation:

Péct můžeš sladká jídla jako například dorty nebo slaná jídla jako například maso, zeleninu, nebo ryby. Pečeš v troubě.

English Translation: You can bake sweet dishes like cakes or savory dishes such as meat, vegetables, or fish. You bake in an oven.

Běhání (Running, Jogging)

Czech Explanation:

Když běháš, potřebuješ dobré běžecké boty, triko, kraťasy nebo legíny.

Můžeš běhat například v parku nebo v lese.

English Translation: When you run, you need good running shoes, a T-shirt, shorts, or leggings. You can run eg. in a park or forest.

Fotografování (Taking Pictures)

Czech Explanation:

Můžeš fotit telefonem nebo fotoaparátem (= foťákem*).

Můžeš fotit telefonem nebo foťákem*, zrcadlovkou.

Člověk, který fotí, je fotograf. Můžeš fotit například přírodu, lidi, zvířata nebo města.

English Translation: You can take pictures with a phone or camera. (Alright, I really have to step in here. We definitely don’t say „fotografovat and fotoaparát,“ they are just too long, so we use „fotit“ and „foťák“). You can take pictures with a phone or a camera, like a DSLR. Someone who takes pictures is a photographer. You can capture subjects like nature, people, animals, or cities.

Čtení (Reading)

Czech Explanation:

Čteš knížky* (= knihy).

Někdo čte rád detektivky, komiksy, životopisy nebo historické romány.

Knižku* (= Knihu) si můžeš koupit v knihkupectví nebo si ji můžeš půjčit v knihovně.

English Translation: You read books. Some enjoy reading detective stories, comics, biographies, or historical novels. You can buy a book at a bookstore or borrow it from a library.

Hraní na hudební nástroj (Playing a Musical Instrument)

Czech Explanation:

Můžeš hrát například na kytaru, na klavír, na piano, na flétnu, na bubny.

Můžeš se učit hrát doma nebo chodit na lekce.

Můžeš mít lekce.

Když se naučíš hrát velmi dobře, můžeš mít koncert.

English Translation: You can play instruments like guitar, piano, flute, or drums. You can learn to play at home or take lessons. If you master it well, you could perform at a concert.

Cestování (Travelling)

Czech Explanation:

Když cestuješ, jezdíš na různá místa.

Můžeš cestovat po České republice nebo můžeš cestovat do zahraničí.

Můžeš cestovat, protože jedeš na dovolenou nebo na služební cestu.

Když cestuješ, máš obvykle batoh nebo kufr. To jsou zavazadla.

English Translation: When you travel, you visit different places. You can travel within the Czech Republic or abroad. You might travel for vacation or business trips. Usually, when you travel, you carry a backpack or suitcase, which are your baggage.
