Bohužel nevím, kdy má Jana narozeniny. Zeptej se Lenky.

3. Formal Situations

Finally, let’s have a look at a more formal dialogue, such as communicating with authorities like the police or a doctor:

• Jak se jmenujete?
• Jmenuji se Renata Hrkalová.
• Jaké je vaše datum narození?
• Promiňte, nerozuměla jsem. Můžete to ještě jednou zopakovat?
• Kdy jste se narodila?
• Narodila jsem se 1. srpna 1977.
• Dobře. Vaše datum narození je tedy prvního osmý devatenáct set sedmdesát sedm.
  (What is your name?
• My name is Renata Hrkalová.
• What is your date of birth?
  Sorry, I didn’t understand. Could you repeat that again?
