Tales in Czech: Mastering Past Tense with Style – 2 STORIES (S02/E35 – daily podcast CZECH YOUR DAY)

THIS WEEK’S TOPIC: ZIMNÍ OBLEČENÍ/WINTER CLOTHES

THE TRANSCRIPT/HANDOUT IS DOWN BELOW

I have 2 stories for you to practice not only past tense in Czech, but also clothes, seasons of the year and preferences (yes, the topics from the previous weeks).

Female Perspective Story:

English Translation:

What did I usually wear in the spring? When it was cold, I wore a T-shirt, pants, and a jacket. When it was very cold, I also had a sweater on. At home, I often wore comfortable pants, a white T-shirt, and white socks. What did I usually not wear in the spring? I didn’t like wearing shorts in the spring. And when did I like wearing shorts? I liked wearing shorts in the summer when it was warm.

Male Perspective Story:

English Translation:

What did I usually wear in the winter? When it was very cold, I wore a T-shirt, pants, a sweater, and a jacket. I also often wore a winter hat and gloves, and in November, I bought winter boots. And what did I usually wear at home? I didn’t wear pants at home. I also did not wear a scarf or gloves at home. Why didn’t I wear a scarf and gloves at home? Because it was warm at home. I liked wearing shorts, a T-shirt, and socks at home.
