In today’s episode, I have a short story for you. You will make the best out of the previous episodes – all the expressions and explanations I have shared with you this week. Our goal isn’t about understanding each word. Instead, it’s about getting the story’s overall meaning.
Enhance Your Listening Skills
I will read you the story twice. Why? Because the initial reading is slow, ensuring you can follow along comfortably. If you find it challenging, sync your listening with the transcript. Doing this a couple of times can be beneficial, but remember to try listening independently too.
The second listening will be in normal speed – the way Czech people really talk. Challenge yourself and get used to it over time.
The Story: What I Wear During Spring
Here’s an insightful snippet from the story:
„What do I typically wear in spring? When it’s chilly, I love wearing long-sleeve shirts, pants, and a jacket. If it’s extremely cold, a sweater is a must. My favorite jacket is beige. Currently, I’m not wearing it because I’m cozy at home in blue pants, a white shirt, and white socks. Stepping outside calls for shoes, which aren’t zipped but lace-up. In spring, I’m not fond of dresses or skirts, saving them for sunny summer days instead. Though spring brings occasional showers, I never carry an umbrella. What’s your go-to wardrobe in spring?“
Practice Makes Perfect
If you don’t understand all the expressions, that’s OK. Focus on the phrases introduced this week. Integrate them into your daily routine. As you navigate your wardrobe, verbalize these expressions until they naturally blend into your life.
