Czech Your Day Community: What is it?

Czech Your Day Community is a nest. It’s an amazing safe space for foreigners who really want to learn Czech and finally understand Czech people in everyday conversations.

After 25 years of teaching languages, I’ve learned one crucial thing: learning a language isn’t a sprint. We’re marathon runners. And just like any marathon runner, you need the right support, the right tools, and most importantly – you need to actually enjoy the journey. Having fun while learning Czech is a key ingredient.

Why I Created This Community

I had foreigners reaching out constantly, all sharing the same frustration: they’d been learning Czech for years, sometimes five years or more, but still couldn’t have a simple conversation at the market or understand what their Czech friends were actually saying. Or they had spent months getting ready for A2 exams (in a traditional way) – without success – which was extremely demotivating and frustrating for them.

All of them experienced the same thing after starting my 15-minute individual lessons from Monday to Friday. No more fear of speaking in Czech, they couldn’t believe their progress. With just 15 minutes of interacting with me in Czech (well, it’s not JUST speaking – there is a method behind it ;)).

More and more foreigners wanted to have individual lessons with me. My waiting list started to get longer and longer. So I realised, I needed to find a way to make my method work for a large audience (= community). I spent the year 2025 testing various ways, activities on myself (with my Spanish – yes, I am my own lab rat), on my individual students, etc. so that I could be sure my method works even for a large number of people in my Community Czech Your Day before offering it to public.

What Makes Czech Your Day Community Different?

Daily Practice (Just 15 Minutes)

Frequency and consistency are the key ingredients. That’s what I keep preaching, and not only preaching – I do it myself with my Spanish every single day. In the community, you’ll get materials and speaking activities designed for daily practice.

Real-Life Czech + Textbook Czech

This is huge. The biggest problem I see with foreigners learning Czech is that they study the formal version only, but then they can’t understand us when we talk normally with friends and family. In my community, I show you both versions – the textbook version AND the way we actually speak. Because otherwise, you’re living in the Czech Republic but not really living, you know?

Speaking on Daily Basis

There is a huge difference when you only „consume“ Czech and when you actually use it (= you produce). You will not have individual lessons with me on daily basis in the community (that’s not in my power – I can’t quadruple myself), but I have found a way to make you speak and interact.

Materials That Make You Speak

The podcast Czech Your Day is awesome, but it has limitations – you keep listening, listening, listening. In the community, I’ve created materials that actually make you speak. Short videos, quizzes, interactive exercises, special programs. The sky is the limit, basically. I don’t know yet what my creativity will bring to the table, but there will definitely be multiple materials for each topic. They will be added regularly.

Accountability Calls

We meet twice a month as a community. That’s your chance to ask me anything – about the materials, about situations you encountered, about problems you’re facing. I want to really be in touch with you. These 60-minute sessions are where we discuss all sorts of things, not only studying.

Personalized Approach

One thing I’ve learned: everyone learns differently. Some people are visual learners (like Scott – that was a light bulb moment for both of us!). Some people need more repetition. Some need to move around while learning. In the community, I provide different types of materials so you can find what works for YOU.

The Power of Meeting Like-minded People

People don’t realize how important this is. It makes your journey so much easier and more fun when you can share, get motivated, find your accountability partner, etc. – all of that in a nest, a safe space – my Community.

Who Is This Community For?

Let me be clear about this:

For foreigners who want to learn Czech and know it’s not a sprint
For people who want to have fun while learning – because if you’re not enjoying it, you won’t stick with it
For people who can dedicate at least 15 minutes daily – frequency is everything
For people who know they’re responsible for their own progress – I’ll guide you, but you’re the one doing the work. I can’t make you drink, you know?
For people who want to understand Czech people in normal conversations – real life scenarios (there will be sections for people getting ready for eg. A2 exams as well – they are definitely planned)

What’s Included?

  • Extra materials: Short videos, handouts, quizzes, materials that make you speak
  • Multiple materials every day: Building a huge library step by step
  • Special programs and courses coming soon: I’ve been working on some already
  • Accountability calls: Twice a month, 60 minutes with me and the community
  • Both formal and informal Czech: So you can understand textbooks (= get ready for an exam) AND your Czech friends
  • And so much more – my Community is a special project, my baby

Real Results from Real People

If you are wondering what you can achieve with just 15 minutes every day, check my student Scott. Scott’s story really shows what’s possible. He moved to the Czech Republic almost six years ago. Tried traditional lessons for a year – hated it. Would dread his Thursday evening lessons. Gave up for a couple of years.

Then he found my approach. Now? He’s having phone calls in Czech. His family was impressed when they visited. He’s comfortable trying with locals and having a laugh. And here’s the best part – he’s only doing 15 minutes a day (in individual lessons), Monday to Friday.

As he said: „I’m really pleased with the progress overall. I’ve got a long way to go, but for me it’s more about the journey. I’m really happy with any kind of progress, even if it’s slow.“

And all of that without knowing a single chart with Czech cases. Yes, Scott is one of my students who doesn’t learn and doesn’t know cases, yet he understands and speaks Czech.

I also have students who prefer learning Czech with cases.

You will find both approaches in my community – no worries.

The Investment

The 90-day membership is 2 999 crowns. That’s basically 33 crowns a day – like having one cup of coffee and dessert in Starbucks every week. Instead of that coffee, you get access to a growing library of materials, special programs, and a community of like-minded people on the same journey.

There’s a seven-day trial period. If you don’t like it, you can totally cancel the membership and move on with your life. No hard feelings. I’ll wish you all the best.

My Promise to You

I really want to support you. I really want to give you the tools for you to succeed. It’s really important to me. You deserve to learn Czech. You deserve to be able to feel confident in situations that six months ago were really uncomfortable for you.

Learning Czech is fun. It’s definitely fun. And while having fun, you’ll improve your Czech much faster and better.

How is it with levels?

Community Czech Your Day is designed in a way that will help people from different levels – from beginners to advanced learners. How is that possible? It’s for multiple reasons. Each topic is created in layers so that you can choose whether you are ready for an easy one or rather more challenging today. There is also a huge area of real-life Czech that causes lots of problems to even really advanced learners.

Important Mindset Shifts

Still not sure about joining my Community? Let me share some wisdom from 25 years of teaching:

Don’t blame yourself. There are days when it’s not easy. We’re human beings, me included. Sometimes it can be really overwhelming. On hard days, just listen to something in Czech. Talk for two or five minutes. That’s it. It’s not about being perfect all the time.

Treat yourself with kindness. You deserve this. You deserve to feel at home in the Czech Republic, to understand Czech films, to get our culture, to have real conversations with Czech people.

Focus on the journey, not just the destination. Progress isn’t linear. You’ll have plateaus. You’ll have jumps. That’s normal. The key is to keep going.

Don’t be scared to try. I will share a thought my student Scott said during our talk (you can find a link to the talk down below): „I’ve never had a situation where someone was annoyed at me trying to speak their language. If anything, people appreciate it. And you know what? You can have some really nice interactions with people through just trying.“
